Twinkle 2015 – Discovering the hidden treasure

In a global interdependent world and economy, we cannot afford to look inward or stay still, even when the financial circumstances seem dire. We need to be bold, to be agile and go international.

Twinkle is about international competence as a source of internationalisation, growth and innovation. It is about the power of human capital and diversity as a driver of social and other innovations.

We have a hidden treasure of international competence right here in Finland : international talents who can contribute to the growth, who can innovate new services or products or build bridges to new markets.

I’m talking about international talents who not only have degrees or professions in various areas of expertise but additional skills that are added value to companies looking to renew their business and expand the new markets

These include language skills, knowledge of the business culture in different target markets, international networks and valuable connections, fresh ideas and different perspectives that can promote for instance the sales and marketing potential of a company.

International talents also have qualities that are required from people who are world citizens: problem-solving skills, adaptability, courage, curiosity, creativity and resilience.
