New association gives TWINKLE Movement more ways to improve global competitiveness

On Thursday, 21st of April a new page was turned for the TWINKLE Movement when TWINKLE  Association was officially launched! This day made all contributors feel proud of what the movement had achieved this far and excited about what the TWINKLE Association will offer in the future for talents and companies. But why was the TWINKLE Association created? Let’s find out!

TWINKLE'S history goes back to the end of the year 2014 when there was the first meet-up of internationally-minded talents. December 2015 was an important time for TWINKLE: it organized a two-day happening that was the biggest business event focusing on international competence and growth. After this event, it was time to create something new and fresh for the movement – the TWINKLE  Association. The association continues the mission of the TWINKLE Movement: to raise Finland’s global competitiveness through technology, education and society. This can be done for instance by helping with the challenges of diversity. The association focuses on spreading the word about the importance of multiculturalism, co-creation and networking which help to achieve growth and innovation.

With the TWINKLE Association, TWINKLE is not just about a organizing a big business event. This kind of TWINKLE event is just one part of what the association offers to find new opportunities for talents and companies to connect. In addition to this, the association will be organizing and participating in smaller events, which can be for instance about networking and matchmaking. The association will also arrange seminars, dialogues, coaching and training for both talents and companies. At customized workshops, companies and talents can concentrate on co-creation. Moreover, there will be idea competitions that give companies new innovative ideas from the talents and the mentoring program where talents mentor companies. Also market analysis will be provided for the companies that want to get international. More information about all these diverse activities is coming later in the blog!

And how can you participate in all of this whether you are a talent or a company that wants to emphasize international atmosphere? By joining the movement and becoming a member!  As a talent you can be a student, a jobseeker, a employee or an entrepreneur. Membership fees are affordable, from 25 euros to 50 euros. For companies and organizations membership fees vary from 85 euros to 1 245 euros.

The TWINKLE Association consists of Twinkle Board and regular members. At the moment, there are five people representing the board. Beatriz Arze - chairperson of the board, Katja Haase -vice chairperson, Liza Daviskiva - the secretary responsible for human resources, and also Gloria Zúñiga and Daryna Barsukova. (There will be a more in depth introduction about the board members later as well.) Twinkle regular members are the core of TWINKLE Association. They are cooperating and helping TWINKLE Movement to grow even more. At the moment we are looking for more passionate and dedicated volunteers to become part of TWINKLE Movement!

Internationalization and entering to foreign markets is not easy task to do for the small companies. Especially when target markets are culturally, institutionally, economically and geographically very distant in from the home base of the company. In other words, when they are currently fastest growing economic areas, in Africa, Asia or Latin-America, in “Global South”.
